The Bullpadel ICON 2027 carries the name of Juan Martín Díaz, which already tells you quite a lot about the character of this racket. It has not been designed simply to hit the ball as hard as possible. Power is important, but it is the combination with placement, spin, variation and feel that makes the ICON particularly interesting.
Its diamond shape, relatively high weight of 370-375 grams and balance point of approximately 26.3 cm give it a clearly attacking character. There is plenty of mass behind the ball, allowing you to generate pressure on volleys, viboras, bandejas and smashes.
At the same time, Bullpadel combines Xtend Carbon 12K with MultiEva, preventing the ICON from developing the extremely hard and dry feel found in some pure power rackets.
What type of player is the Bullpadel ICON for?
The ICON has been developed for advanced, competitive and professional players who like to take the initiative.
It particularly suits players who spend plenty of time at the net and do not want to win purely through speed, but also like to vary direction, pace and spin.
At 370-375 grams, the ICON is certainly not a lightweight racket. Combined with a balance point of approximately 26.3 cm, a considerable amount of mass sits towards the top.
That becomes a major advantage in attack.
On overheads, you get plenty of weight behind the ball and do not have to generate all the speed purely with your arm. If your technique is good and you accelerate properly through the shot, the mass of the racket helps create a lot of pressure.
The trade-off is that you also need to be able to handle that mass.
During quick defensive situations and long matches, the ICON asks more from your arm and technique than a lighter, centrally balanced racket.
It is therefore not the most logical option for beginners. For experienced players who enjoy using a slightly heavier power padel racket, however, that weight can be one of its greatest strengths.
Xtend Carbon 12K
The hitting surface is made from Xtend Carbon 12K.
This construction uses bundles of 12,000 carbon filaments. The material combines rigidity with enough elasticity to prevent the racket from feeling excessively stiff.
That distinction matters.
A harder carbon surface can feel extremely direct but can also be much more demanding. The 12K construction of the ICON still provides a firm and clear response while offering slightly more flexibility and ball feel.
This creates the medium touch that suits the racket extremely well.
There is enough rigidity when you accelerate hard, but on controlled volleys and bandejas there is also enough feel to place the ball accurately.
MultiEva core
The MultiEva core consists of EVA layers with different densities.
During powerful shots, the firmer outer layers are activated more strongly. These create a more direct and explosive response as ball speed increases.
During slower shots, the softer inner layer plays a larger role, providing additional comfort, feel and control.
This makes the ICON more versatile than a racket built around one extremely hard foam density.
You can accelerate firmly at the net but still have enough feel to take pace off the ball or place a controlled shot.
Diamond shape and high balance
The diamond shape gives the ICON its attacking foundation.
The balance point of approximately 26.3 cm is high enough to generate additional leverage, but the ICON is not designed purely to produce the hardest possible smash.
By combining this shape with Xtend Carbon 12K and MultiEva, Bullpadel maintains enough versatility.
The mass towards the top supports power, while the medium touch prevents every contact from feeling excessively hard.
That makes the ICON particularly interesting for attacking players who do not base their entire offensive game on brute force.
Icon Core
One of the most important features of the racket is the Icon Core.
The arms in the heart of the racket are rotated at an angle of approximately 25 degrees.
This construction creates controlled torsion while maintaining structural stability.
At impact, the Icon Core helps transfer energy efficiently through the racket.
At the same time, its shape helps reduce air resistance during the swing.
That is especially important in a relatively heavy racket. You want the extra mass behind the ball without the racket feeling unnecessarily sluggish during fast movements.
The Icon Core helps bring those two characteristics together.
3D Grain for additional spin
The ICON uses 3D Grain on the hitting surface.
This textured finish increases interaction between the racket and ball and helps generate additional spin.
That suits this racket particularly well.
Players who like viboras, sliced volleys and bandejas need more than just speed. They also need grip on the ball to control direction and spin.
3D Grain gives you more options to make the ball dip, move away from your opponent or come off the glass with extra rotation.
Ease Vibe, Vibradrive and Hesacore
A 370-375 gram racket with a carbon hitting surface can feel very direct. Bullpadel therefore uses several systems to reduce unwanted vibration.
Ease Vibe helps reduce vibration coming from the racket face.
Vibradrive absorbs vibration towards the handle.
The Hesacore grip also increases contact with the hand, reducing the need to squeeze the handle excessively and helping improve grip control.
Together, these technologies maintain the solid character of the ICON without making it unnecessarily uncomfortable.
CustomWeight
With CustomWeight, you can further adjust the racket's weight and balance to suit your preferences.
As the ICON is already relatively heavy and high-balanced as standard, not every player will want to add more weight.
For experienced players who know exactly how they want their racket to feel, however, the system provides additional fine-tuning possibilities.
How does the Bullpadel ICON 2027 play?
The ICON immediately feels solid and stable.
You can clearly feel that you are playing with 370-375 grams. This is particularly useful at the net, where the racket keeps plenty of mass behind the ball when blocking a volley or accelerating through the shot.
On overheads, the high balance becomes an advantage.
You can play bandejas and viboras with plenty of weight while 3D Grain provides enough grip to generate spin.
On smashes, the weight and balance provide plenty of support, but the ICON does not feel as extremely hard as some pure power rackets.
Xtend Carbon 12K and MultiEva are largely responsible for that.
As a result, there is still plenty of room for feel and placement. You do not need to finish every attacking point with maximum pace. A controlled volley towards the fence or a heavily spun vibora suits the character of this racket just as well.
From defence, you do notice the additional weight. You need to prepare early and have enough technique to get the racket into position quickly.
The Bullpadel ICON 2027 is therefore mainly aimed at experienced attacking players who enjoy a slightly heavier racket and are looking for a combination of power, stability, spin and control. If you only want the hardest possible power racket, there are more extreme choices. If you want to attack with variation and decide points through placement and spin as well as power, the ICON is one of the most interesting Bullpadel rackets in the 2027 collection.
